Ried Karlsberg Grüner Veltliner 2023
Grüner Veltliner has become one of the most internationally sought-after Austrian wines in recent history. It is very terroir-driven, and its spicy aromatics and animating structure are unsurpassed when looking at a food-friendly, high-end wine that holds this extra.
Entirely healthy, selected grapes with a high acid structure; traditional vinification with controlled oxygenation, partly in new 500-litre tonneaus; careful élevage on the fine lees in the century-old barrel cellars. Limited release.
Brilliant green-yellow hues. Orange zest, pepper, citrus blossom, ripe pear and quince, some dried fruit and mint on the nose. A taut arc of freshness, broad fruit notes, and plenty of spice and fruit on the mineral, stimulating finish.
Recommended with smoked dishes, seafood, classic Austrian dishes such as Tafelspitz, and spicy, Asian-inspired cuisine.
